We the team of students are interested ,fascinated to contribute our knowledge in order to help the society in a better means. With this focus , we undergo a societal survey and observe some common problems that need solutions under the guidance of Mr. IRFAN,Assistant Professor,Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

PHASE-1

1.1.COMMUNITY PARTNER NAME: SANDHAYA RANI

1.2.INTRODUCTION:

Generally  in many villages from the olden days,it is hard to find a hospital or a medical shop in the village itself.so, in order to get medicine in any emergency case they need to travel for long distances to bring them.But it is very difficult for them to travel in the night times.

1.3.SOCEITAL SURVEY:

  We Shashi preetham ,NithyaReddy,Vijay kumar,Divyasree,Jithin kumar,Roshini has visited the village of Ananthasagar (warangal dist.) to survey on problems faced by them. 

 From survey we came to know that people of Ananthasagar  village are facing problems like:

1) There is a Nurse  who is available only in the morning that is only for two hours.

2) There is an RMP doctor in the village but whenever any new people who are passing through the village has any problem does’nt know the address of the RMP doctor.

1.4.PROBLEMS FACED BY THEM:

—From Survey we came to know that people of Ananthasagar village are facing problems which are related to emergency health issues.

— Especially at night even small health problems like acidity, motions, stomach pain.  There is a critical issue to have medicine availability within the patient’s reach.

1.5.CONVERSATION WITH COMMUNITY PARTNER:

1) How many times will you visit the village? What are the medical problems that ananthasagar village people are facing?

I will visit everyday.There are facing a few problems for which treatment will be given by us.In case of emergency they need to travel to the city (Hnk or Wgl).

2) What are the facilities that are provided by the government?

They are providing first aid and in future they are planning to provide some more facilities to the people.

3) How many medical shops are present in ananthasagar village ?

There are no medical shops in the village.Only RMP doctors will provide the treatment.The villagers will take the medicines first from us,if it is a severe problem then they will go to the RMP doctors or to the city.

4) Is there any medical camp in the village?

Yes,there is a monthly medical camp.

1.6.PROBLEM STATEMENT:

  • Diagnosis is always a concern for the people living in rural area. At the same time medicine availability also has a major impact excluding the factor about complete cure.

  • The aim of this prototype is that temporary relief is to be given out that can give people a better chance for resisting the health from withdrawing before they are able to reach doctor.

  •  Major advantage is that people would be able to access the drugs via patient kiosks in public places such as drug stores, malls, bus, railway stations, on highways, areas where medical stores are limited.

PHASE 2

2.1 PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION:

— Especially at night even small health problems like acidity, motions, stomach pain.  There is a critical issue to have medicine availability within the patient’s reach.

2.2.EXISTING SOLUTIONS:

There are some products like ALPYOP,House of Quirle,Livefine automatic pill,RIANZ,Smartcraft weekly pill box.

Drawbacks of ALPYOP:

  1. This is only for personal use.

  2. The tablets are placed in a box with out cover.

  3. So, that they may not know the expiry date as it is not specified on it.

  4. And only the educated people know which tablet is present in which box

   Drawbacks of  RIANZ:

   1. This is also only for personal use not for everyone.

   2.  We should take care of it as lid is closed tightly or not.

Drawbacks of Livefine automatic pill:

 1. This tablets are unprotected.

 2.  It is for personal us.

 3.  It consists of password and once the password is lost then we can’t open the box.

PHASE 3

3.1:Main requirements of the people are:

–The product should provide different types of medicine.

—Product should be so easy to maintain.

—It should be affordable.

—It should be understood by any educated or uneducated people.

—It should be very useful in emergency cases mainly at night times.

3.2 Product Specifications:

  • LCD and Keypad is Connected to the Arduino

  • Arduino output is connected to 4 motors

  • Every motor is connected to separate chamber containing medicine pills.

  • Supply voltage is given to all the components through 12v battery.

  • Now buttons of keypad is used for the giving out medicine form its respective chamber.

3.3 Best solution:

  • Our best idea is to build amachine which gives different types of tablets needed when we insert money in the machine.

  • By using four boxes filled with four different medicines and these boxes have individual button.When we insert a coin,these boxes get activate,when we press  a button of one box the medicine comes out and other boxes gets lockewd to make sure that no one misuses the product provided.

3.4.Concept Developed:

3.5.Advantages:

  • Low cost, easy to implement.

  • Accurate.

  • Can be implemented in hospitals and home as well

3.6.Detailed design of the product:

  • In the designing of the product we use Arduino ATMEGA 2586, L239D Driver’s, 4 separate chambers, 12V battery.

  • The LCD and keypad are interfaced with the Arduino board and the Arduino is programmed according to the requirements.

  • Keypad is the input to Arduino and Arduino output is given to LCD, motors.

  • Now buttons of keypad is used for the giving out medicine form its respective chamber.

  • Whenever button on keypad is pressed respective button is displayed on LCD and Respective chambers gets active and gives a pill out.

  • Keypad acts an input to the Arduino and Arduino out is used to activate the chambers to give pill out

  • 12v battery is used as power supply for Arduino, motors, keypad and LCD

  • After the connections are made, the whole circuit is arranged in the form of a box such that the button can be easily pressed.

3.7.Components/Budget:

1. Arduino Board: We use it to run the application based program

  • Arduino IDE is used for programming

2.IR Sensors: To detect Coins

3. 4 boxes: we use to fill the different types of tablets

4. LCD: To display the information(like temperature of the body and pulse rate)

5.Keypad: To get the access to particular box

6.Machine chasis: To put all components in a particular design

7. Stepper Motor: To rotate the boxes in such a way that only one tablet gets out of the box

8. Pulse rate sensor:  To check the pulse rate

9. Temperature: To check the temperature of the body
